Child Safety Standards

Outish has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out our standards, how to report a concern, and what we do when we receive one.

What is prohibited

The following are strictly prohibited on Outish, without exception:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, in any form.
• Sexualizing, grooming, soliciting, or sexually extorting a minor.
• Attempting to arrange or facilitate a real-world meeting with a minor for a sexual purpose.
• Trafficking of, or advertising for, a minor.
• Content, text, imagery, or usernames that sexualize minors, including drawn, animated, or computer-generated material.
• Using Outish to link to, promote, or direct anyone toward any of the above.

Violating any of these results in immediate and permanent termination of the account, and referral to the appropriate authorities.

How the product limits risk

Outish is built so that strangers cannot reach you, which materially narrows the surface for this kind of abuse:

• Mutual friends only. Every connection must be accepted by both people. There is no way to browse, search for, or be discovered by someone you have not added.
• No public feed and no public profiles. Nothing you post is visible to the general public, to search engines, or to anyone outside your accepted friends.
• No messaging. Outish has no direct messages, no chat, and no comment threads. There is no private channel through which a stranger could contact a user.
• No media sharing. Users cannot send or post photos or video to one another. The only image on the service is an optional profile photo.
• Blocking is immediate and mutual. A block takes effect at once in both directions and removes any existing connection.

How to report

Anyone can report a concern, whether or not they have an Outish account.

1. In the app. Open the profile or outing in question, tap the … menu, and choose Report. You can also Block the person from the same menu, which takes effect immediately.
2. By email. Write to [email protected] with the subject Child safety report. Include the handle or phone number involved and anything that helps us locate the account.

How we respond

We treat every child safety report as our highest priority and act on it ahead of all other reports.

• We review promptly. Reports are assessed by a person, not automatically dismissed.
• We remove and terminate. Content that violates these standards is removed and the responsible account is permanently terminated. We also terminate any other account we can attribute to the same person.
• We preserve evidence. Where we are permitted or required to, we preserve relevant records for law enforcement rather than destroying them with the account.
• We report to authorities. Apparent child sexual abuse material is reported to NCMEC, and we cooperate with law enforcement requests and legal process.
• We keep the reporter out of it. We do not tell the reported person who reported them.

Legal compliance

Outish LLC complies with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where the service is offered, including United States federal reporting obligations for apparent child sexual abuse material. We comply with the child safety requirements of the app stores that distribute Outish, including the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Review Guidelines.

We maintain a dedicated point of contact for child safety matters, including inquiries from app stores, regulators, NGOs, and law enforcement.

Keeping these standards current

We review these standards at least annually, and whenever we add a feature that changes how users can reach or share with one another. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent review.
