Delete your account

You can delete your Outish account and the personal data associated with it at any time. Here's how, and exactly what happens to your information.
Option 1 — Delete in the app
The fastest way to delete your account:
- Open Outish and go to Profile → Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and associated personal data are scheduled for deletion right away.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email us from the phone number or email on your account:

Subject: Account deletion request. Include the phone number associated with your account so we can verify it's you. We'll confirm and complete the deletion, typically within 30 days.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove or permanently de-identify:
- Your profile (name, handle, photo) and phone number.
- Your friend connections and friend requests.
- Your broadcasts and any associated location data (active broadcasts are closed and removed).
- Your push notification tokens and in-app preferences.
- Hashed contact identifiers used for friend matching.
What outlives deletion, and for how long
Your profile, phone number, contacts data, outings, and friend graph are permanently erased the moment you confirm. Two things outlive that erasure, for up to 30 days, and then age out automatically — see Data retention in our Privacy Policy for exactly what each one contains:
- Operational logs — pseudonymous request and error diagnostics kept to run the service and debug incidents. These never contain phone numbers, precise location, or contact data.
- An encrypted database backup — a routine full-database snapshot kept to recover from a database failure, not to rebuild your profile or contact you for marketing.
Billing records are separate, and are not ours to delete. If you subscribed, the record of that purchase is held by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own retention policies. We keep your subscription status and the store’s transaction identifier for as long as financial, tax, and legal obligations require. Deleting your Outish account does not delete the store’s record of the purchase.
Things to know before you delete
- Deletion is permanent — your account can't be recovered, and you'd need to sign up and verify again to return.
- If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, deleting your account does not automatically cancel that subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings to stop future charges.
